Logi Options+ using gigabytes of memory
Options+ starts heavy and then keeps growing. Periph is the opposite: the most seamless Logitech experience at around 40 MB, a small agent owns the devices; the window opens only when you need it.
What “gigabytes” usually is
Activity Monitor will show more than one Logi process. Add them together. The number that matters is the week-later total, not the first launch. People report the suite climbing from a few hundred megabytes toward several gigabytes without a corresponding change in how the mouse works.
What you can try inside Options+
Quit it from the menu bar and reopen it. That dumps the leak until it grows again. Turning off cloud sync and unused modules helps a little. It does not change the architecture.

- Does a smaller app still remap everything?
- Periph remaps buttons, DPI, SmartShift, and per-app profiles over HID++. It does not replace firmware updates.
- Do I have to uninstall Options+ to save RAM?
- You have to quit it so it is not fighting the receiver. Uninstall when you are ready; leftover login items will keep using memory if they still launch.
